Washington --- Day 1 & 2

On March 7th we packed our precious cargo ---

And headed off for an adventure in Washington!

On the 10 hour drive there I got this sweet baby ---

& this bubbly girl ---

While Zachary and Daddy hung-out in the "wok" truck.

{as Zach called it}

It was a pretty good drive.

Emma colored away and was able to help entertain Kye.

I think both of them LOVED the extra room!

{yes, having 3 in the back seat is a little SQUISHY, but hey they fit!}

We got there with enough time to eat dinner, look at Daddy's job, and GO TO BED!

It was a long drive & we were all EXHAUSTED!!

The second day we got up EARLY! Because of the 1 hour time difference & them ALL sharing the living room space they were all awake by 6:ooAM ... woo-wee that's EARLY for me!

I was a little weary of setting out in a place I didn't know my way around, but with my GPS on my phone in tow we went out & about!

We found our way to WinCo to get the necessities ... aka MILK, treats, cereal & MORE cereal!

Then we headed to the mall to look for some RUN time for my kids since it was so SOGGY outside!

And RUN TIME we found compliments of the mall playground.

Even Kye learned to manuevar around the joint!

All I can say it THANK GOODNESS malls have play areas!! We visited that place DAILY! My kids were always BEGGING to go to the mall ... hehehe

{yes, it rained, poured, drizzled the whole week we were there!}

We had lunch with Daddy & then came back to our home-away-from-home to enjoy NAPS!!!

Then we got to enjoy life with CABLE televsion.

Needless to say, my kids were in TV heaven!!

That night we packed our kids up and went Downtown Spokane & walked by the riverfront.

It was FREEZING, but a REALLY pretty area!

We also stopped by John Stockton's almamardar

{sp??? who would know???}

& I bought a T-shirt on CLEARANCE ... WOOT WOOT!

It was a fun night as a family out & about.

We were just GLAD to be with Daddy!!!!

St. Patty's Day ...

Today is the day of GREEN.

It's been a FUN day in FULL CELEBRATION form!!

My kids woke-up to find that the Leprachaun's had came & gone.

They did leave a few things behind ...

Their footprints ...

My kids LOVED this!

"They", the leprachauns, played tricks on us by turning our milk GREEN!

& they left us some yummy "Leprachaun" cereal!

We had to enjoy some GREEN "Big Dutch Babies" & a bowl of yummy "Leprachaun" cereal.

Then we got to chill-out with Grandma!!!!

For lunch we made the yummiest "Green Eggs and Ham".Once we realized that we DIDN'T have the book, it was quite a disappointment!
So a silly little Leprachaun ran to the store & dropped all this GREEN stuff off at our door.

We got to read this fun book TWICE!!!

Then I got ready to go to Enrichment,
the kids finished off the night eating GREEN treats ... after dinner ... & watchin' movies with Grandma!
It was such a fun & simple day.
I love days like this!!!
Glad the "Birthday Dinner" is done for RS!
Ahhhhhh, the STRESS is OVER, at least for this month.

BIRTHDAY TIME!!!

The big 3-0 Birthday Bash!!!

My sweet husband turned that dreaded age, in STYLE & without really thinking twice about it.

He drove home from Washington on Thursday, & got here about 10:30, to this:

Then we got to sleep-in a little bit, since our kids did.

{AWE, what a wonderful birthday present, especially to "an old man" like him, hehehe}

Then we opened up our window to this sweet message from a THOUGHTFUL neighbor:

{I think it really embrassed Alfie to have it up on our window ALL day long! I wouldn't let him take it off, but this morning when I got home from running, it was GONE!}
We spent the day visiting the TAX guy, turning in reciepts at his work, & other exciting errands ... WOHOO!!
After a little ciesta, we were up and playing games together:

Alfie did spend a lot of frustrating minutes doing this:

Bummer!!!

He has to keep his job going at full speed even though he's not there! It seemed as if everything that could've gone wrong DID, but he's AMAZING, so he worked through all the frustration & hopefully will arrive back at the job on Tuesday without anymore hiccups!!!

We had yummy pizza for dinner.

The kids helped me make Daddy a delicious cake

& we enjoyed the night as a family watching MegaMind ... Which we all LOVED!!!

It was the BEST time spent as a FAMILY!!

{something that hasn't happened in a while!!!}

Tonight Alfie & I are going out!!!
I can't wait to have a night away!!

Monday I am going to Washington with him ... for a WHOLE week!!

The kids & I are following him there.

It'll be nice to have Daddy at nights & on the weekend!

Let the celebrating continue!!

Happy 30th Baba!!!

{he's getting an AWESOME present, that I KNOW he'll LOVE, but I don't have it, yet ... I will post about it once he has recieved it}

Aprons ... & a little GUILT!

On Thursday night I had COMPANY to pass the night away!! I loved having people around and it's ALWAYS fun to craft something together. Michelle and I are the only 2 who haven't made this specific pattern, so we got together and CRAFTED the night away!!!

Dave always joins in on the fun too!!

He is such a reamarkable CRAFTER!!!

EXCITEMENT!!!

I know it's L.A.T.E!!

But I can't sleep ...

It's like the night before Christmas ...

ALAN IS COMING HOME TOMORROW!!!

{yeah, he won't be home until midnight or later, but to me it's still counting as TOMORROW!!}

After 2 1/2 weeks of having him GONE it'll be nice to spend the weekend with him

& then go to Washington for an entire WEEK to be with him!

There might not be much to do, but at least Daddy will be home at night!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Once we've been there a week we will come home ...

He will have to stay ...

BUT we are just excited to get to spend time with him!!

Fun STUFF ---

It hasn't been all BAAAD!!! {see post below}

We have had some FUN, FUN, FUN while Daddy's been gone.

We battled with cousins at Aunt Charisse's ...

While the women sewed on President's Day!

The kids actually got along FANTASTIC on President's Day, & I just came a socialized while everyone else sewed their hearts out. It really was such a relaxing day! We will be having another sewing party this week ... I CAN'T WAIT!! I'll be sewing ME one of those cute aprons!

{I am modeling Ashley's Apron ... which brings me to my next off subject coversation piece ---

ASH, do you LIKE your aprons??? I haven't heard ONE thing about them, or seen ANY ... ANY pictures of you in them!!! What's up with that???}

We also have been making BELOVED sock puppets ---

My kids LOVE dancing around with their sock puppets on their feet ... NOW that is ENTERTAINING to watch!! It was Zachary's idea to put them on his feet ... funny dude!!!

We also were able to go to the Kid's Safe Fair last weekend and that was TONS of fun!!!

We spent 3 1/2 hours there & could've spent MORE if it was just Emma!!

We got our face painted ---

Got Balloon Things made ---

{& had to deal with the DEVASTATION when they popped}

Got to RIDE on a MOTORCYCLE!!!

{the highlight of Zachary's time was spent on motorcycles, inside buses, driving a firetruck, and flying a helicopter ... ALL BOY!!!}

My camera DIED after this "RIDE", but My Mommy had her camera.

So the rest of the FUN we had was captured with hers, so I'll have to just tell you about it!

We toured MANY different vehicles, learned about Fire Safety, which really sunk in with Emma and Zachary ... they have talked about it ever since!

We got to color pictures, play on a playground, ride on scooters, do little crafts, get TONS of free "STUFF" {that Emma has LOVED to put with her "STASH" of ... JUNK ...}, pet many FORIEGN animals, & have a GLORIOUS time being with Grandma ... THANKS for coming and helping me Momma -Cita!!!

We have also baked some Yummy stuff ---

-orange rolls, carmelitas, cookies, mini cupcakes, & kid friendly dinners

Don't worry, we have shared ALL the treats with WONDERFUL neighbors who have been taking care of us, so we haven't gained 10lbs since Daddy left. I really haven't been eating my days away ...

We also got to go to the Bountiful Pool with Aunt Megie & Uncle Blake ---
