This is Halloween… 2013

We finally carved our pumpkins this last Monday in October.  After picking our pumpkins my kids asked ALMOST daily if we were carving them that night.  They were excited!  But as usual there was 1 who absolutely detested cleaning OUT there pumpkin…I was surprised by who it was… Can you guess who it might be?IMG_1420 IMG_1422 IMG_1437 IMG_1439 Daddy is always so good to capture & cut-out JUST what they request.  Our kids all LOVED their pumpkins, THANKS DADDY!

I absolutely LOVED the seeds I made this year…. Thanks to a friend on good ol’ FB who posted the fabulous link!!IMG_1518

I was not ready for Halloween this year, but luckily my kids didn’t have hopes to be anything too extravagant.  Emma’s china doll creation was made up of a dress Daddy got her from Seattle over a year ago.  Taggart’s Frankenstein costume was pulled together from a fabulous outfit I got & a hat I bought.  Kye came up with the pumpkin idea from who knows where, but with my & my Mom’s creative juices over a phone conversation I LOVED it & so did he!  Zachary was my hardest… he wanted to be a Zombie.  Luckily he had in his mind exactly how he wanted to look.  He was more than happy & so was I!!!  We had Papa Murhpy’s Jack-O-Latern pizza & off they went trick-or-treating.  They had a fun night with Daddy…. Emma going out 3 different times & the boys going out twice.

I love Halloween & this year was no different although I had slightly less energy & was still dazed over from the lack of sleep.  I doubt my kids even noticed & I’m so happy with the way things turned out.  Happy Be-lated Halloween Everyone!!!

Jeepin’ in Moab

Alan’s company planned a company trip while I was still pregnant for October 24th-26th to go Jeeping in Moab.  I was a little bummed when I heard about it, but decided that I’d put my name down as going & if nothing else I’d sit in the hotel room with my sweet lil baby.  Well, it ended up working out that I was able to go jeeping with the group on both days.  Taggart was such a good lil sport about the whole event & slept AWESOME in the hotel room with us. It was fun to be able to mingle with the employees & their spouses, or some of them brought older kids with them since their wife couldn’t go, & gain a different repor with them.   It was a fun, but crazy getaway & the next time Squires plans a spouse getaway I hopefully won’t have just had a baby!!!

I don’t really think Jeeping IS my Thing, but I wanna do it again when I’m not worried so much about a baby being tossed around.  I would do it again just to get to spend the time with my Baba!!  Thanks Mumsey for taking our other 3 for the weekend.

ps….after this weekend with Grandma Kye had NO DESIRE to live with me & our house.  He told me DAILY that he wanted to live with Grandma & that I was MEAN!  I also heard, “well Grandma would let me” at least  a dozen time a day, although I KNOW Grandma wouldn’t of let him.  After this Kye even ran away to a friends house on Halloween cause he was sick of OUR RULES.  LUCKILY, things have gotten MUCH better & he’s realized the PERKS to following our simple rules & life is golden once again.  Oh the JOYS of Motherhood… Life is so un-predictable & one day this part of life will be a WHOLE lot funnier to look back on!!

Pumpkin Patch

It’s NOT fall to me until we visit a pumpkin patch & pick our pumpkins.  I had resigned myself to the fact that with a NEW baby I may have to miss out on this fun tradition, but luckily the Saturday after my birthday the weather was warm enough to venture out.  We went mid-afternoon in the “heat” of the day just to make sure it was warm enough for Taggart.  It was PERFECT… other than the line, but our kids all did amazing & it was a fun family outing.  It was the first outing as a whole family of 6!

We all found JUST THE RIGHT pumpkin after searching the pumpkin patch & we were all happy to ride on the hayride!

Also, that day marked Taggart’s 2 week birthday!  I documented it by taking this photo….IMG_1200

…my oh my what a difference 2 weeks make!! I was sure happy to NOT be pregnant for my birthday!!! :)

My 29th Birthday

I LOVE my birthday… Doesn’t EVERYBODY??!!?  This year for my birthday my Baba was outta town… BOO-hoo! {this wasn’t the first year he’s been gone, but I still bawled!}  Anyways….My Madre came up on my birthday & celebrated with me.  My kids had the day off of school because of Fall Break… best birthday present was being able to SLEEP-IN with Taggart in the morning!!  My Mom came up & visited with me & then watched Taggart so I could take my kids to the Family Fun Center & play a game of Laser Tag & then go get slurpees.  I wanted to do something FUN for their day-off & Grandma rescued us so we didn’t have to take Taggart & risk him getting sick.  It was a fun day spent with my kids.  I’m so glad to have them around to make the days without a Baba worthwhile & still loads of fun!!!IMG_1103 IMG_1065 IMG_1070 IMG_1073 IMG_1081 IMG_1087 IMG_1097

My sweetheart arrived home that night just in time to help put kids to bed.  {Another great birthday present}  We enjoyed each others company that night & I enjoyed the help DURING the night since he had been gone ALL week!  It was a simple birthday, but I was so grateful to be able to have my 4 around me to show me love.  I also had many friends & family call, stop by, or text me which I thoroughly enjoyed too!  Here’s to being one year older & wiser too…. Happy Birthday TO ME!!!

Visitors….

Taggart & I were lucky to have many visitors come to visit us both in the hospital & at home.   It’s always good to feel the love from friends & family.

On Saturday Grandma Fergy watched our kids, so she was the first non-immediate family to see us.  It was fun to see her & talk with her.  There’s always something about seeing your OWN Mom after you become a Mom again.  I remember being teary eyed & so grateful for all she’s done for me throughout the years!!  I LOVE YOU MUMSEY!

Megan & Blake came Saturday night to the hospital.  It was fun to have the company that night.   IMG_0619 IMG_0620 The next day, Sunday, of course my kids & Alan came to visit.  They came about lunchtime, where we had a picnic in my room…. NOT ON THE FLOOR!  We also enjoyed reading stories, holding Taggart, & being together as a family of 6.

Soon we were joined by Grandpa Fergy, Uncle Davey, & Grandma Fergy again.  It was nice to visit with them amongst the CRAZINESS of my other 3.

After my kids went home, Alan got ready to go to work, while Grandma Fergy got ready to take over again. Daddy stopped by on his way to work to enjoy us in peace & quiet.  It was nice to see him even if it was only a couple of minutes.

That night, Sunday, my good friends came for a visit.  I was grateful for their company.  I didn’t have to spend one night totally alone in the evening & I was so grateful  for that.  These girls are such good friends.  I wouldn’t know what I would do without them.  I’m so grateful I moved into this ward & met this wonderful girls who have carried me through the best of times & hard times as well.

Taggart & I came home Monday morning & that night we got Grandma & Grandpa Madsen & Uncle Nate as visitors.  They came for a quick visit & we were grateful they came all this way to enjoy our new lil bundle with us.

Grandma Fergy came a couple of times throughout the next couple of weeks & I’m not sure what I would’ve done without her help!  Thank Goodness for Moms!!! (My sweet MIL was planning on coming out to help, but ended up getting a terrible cold & couldn’t make it… we missed her, but was grateful she didn’t come share her germs.)

 IMG_0846

My Sister, Charisse, & her sweet kids came out to see us shortly after we had Taggart. (They did try to come right after we had him, but we had sickies at our house & she has a new baby too…. our babies are about a month apart….so fun to have cousins CLOSE in age!!)  The day they ended up coming I got extremely achey & didn’t feel good at all before they came.  I took major pain meds & fell asleep.  I woke-up to kids screaming about cousins being here…I had slept for almost 4 hours straight.  I felt better, but my house was a WRECK & I was totally out of it.  Being so out of it made it so I didn’t take pictures like I normally would’ve.  I’ll have to get those picture as some point from my Mumsey, who also joined the Medicos that day.  They brought us a delicious dinner that night & we were so grateful!

We also got a visit from my brother, Dennis, & his family. They were so sweet to come for a short visit amongst their busy schedule & also bring us dinner.    IMG_1037IMG_1042IMG_1039

I feel bad that I’m a spazz-oid & never thought to take pictures of 2 visitors AT ALL!  Audrey, Alan’s sweet older sister, came to visit one morning after she took her kids to school.  It was fun to get to visit with her while our 2 3-year olds played their hearts out.  I’ve always loved talking to her & I guess I just got caught up in talking to her & forgot to bring out the camera. :(

Also, Alan’s younger brother, Dave, & his family came to visit just this past Sunday & I never broke out the camera.  It was fun to get to catch-up with them & let our kids play.  Sorry for my slacker ways!!! :(

It’s always fun to SHOW-OFF our new baby & we are so grateful to have such wonderful family & friends who support us through all our endeavors in life.
