Valentine's Day 2013

I love to show the people I Love how much I LOVE them on this wonderful day! As my kids woke up the morning of they were all a chatter in the hall over the CANDY that was in the hallway. It was fun to listen to!!
As they followed the trail it ended at the kitchen table with a new family game to play. {and boy have we had fun playing them!!!}
Then I let the open a Valentine from Grandma & Grandpa Fergy...the body wash & wash cloths are LOVED by all!!
I made a simple heart pancake & we enjoyed the "PINK" milk in our fridge. Then it was off to school for Emma where she was excited to exchange Valentines with her classmates! {Zach exchanged valentines the day before at pre-school & loved it!}
That afternoon I dropped my kids off at a friends & met up with Alan at the ENT's office for his follow-up surgery visit. It was nice to be able to go with him & then afterwards we went to Setabello's in Farmington Station Park. It was our fist visit there...& it WON'T be our last!!! It was yumm-o!!!!
We got home & switched kids with our friends & they went out for a bite to eat. We did dessert with their 3 kids & our 3 kids & had a great night!!!
It was a FABULOUS day of LOVE!! I love my 4 Cuties!!! I'm so blessed to have ALL of them & am grateful I have so much love to go around!!! I'm one lucky Mommy & Wifey!!!

A lil update....

So Surgery went well... The days following not so well! Man oh man... It was rough for a couple of days! Poor Hubby was in soooo much pain it was almost unbearable to watch. The pain meds made him so so sooooo SICK! He couldn't take them, but the pain was so PAINFUL! All he could handle was 600ibuprofin... Every 6 hours even though the pain came back after 4 hours. Man it was rough, but we MADE it!! I drove him around Monday to do a couple work errands & some family errands done & he was FREEZING!! 80 degrees on his side while I was baking alive....that NEVER happens!!! Crazy things happened during that 5 days & I'm so grateful for prayers being answered, wonderful priesthood blessings, & thoughtful neighbors to take care of us even though I felt like I had it under control....sometimes others KNOW better & I just have to accept the help!! Thank goodness by Tuesday he was feeling good enough to go back into work cause NOBODY...not even his boss...was running his job right. I was nervous for him to go in, but fortunately by Thursday things were doing MUCH better!!! The Doc said the weird 'ol swelling was normal, & it all looked good. The results were NO CANCER, but other "unique" things were found, so Alan will visit with another specialist to try & figure this all out. Weird, but that's life!!! :)
I'm so grateful he is doing better! It's hard to see someone you love so much be in pain & not be able to do anything for it! I'm grateful for patient kids who, by some miracle, tip-toed around the house while Daddy suffered. {...we did get to enjoy a family movie night on Monday. It was nice to have Dad home EARLY, so we could start the movie early enough to finish it before bedtime!!!}
Thank you for all your concern & prayers in our behalf...we truly have felt blessed during this lil obstacle in life!

This Week with the Madsen's

This week we have
-built snow caves
-shopped for something NEW at RcWilley
-built birdhouses with our kids
-enjoyed the Super Bowl...me & the kids had a party while Daddy went with my brothers to Paaaarty!
-Kye has mastered "dressing" up in blizzare outfits
-Kye cried as Emma & Zach headed off to school Monday morning
-Zach, Kye, & I had lunch with Daddy at City Creek...i love that place!!!
-we've snuggled together & read a LOT of books...my fav thing to do!
-Kye slept in until 8:15 on Tuesday morning... He is ALWAYS my early riser,so I had to go make sure he was still breathing---i love watching my sleeping babies!!!
-Emma's ears are bugging her again...they were clogged...we were given a crazy expensive steroid ear drops that had cleared them up & now LIFE is too loud for her :(
Last, but not least.....
-Al had surgery to remove a swollen lymph node in his neck...it's been there since December...it's hard & not normal, so as our Dear Dr. Stock said, "it belongs in a jar...not a throat!" {Dr. Stock did Emma's tubes 1 year ago....we "know him well...or he knows us well!!}
Al's in surgery as I'm typing, so hopefully all goes well & the lymph will be nothing.!! ps....he's met his deductible....it's ONLY February....bring life on!!!
Life with the Madd-o's is GOOD! We are happy to have insurance & count our blessings that "all these" medical things didn't happen while Alan was unemployed for 2 years!!! We are blessed to have the life we do & such supportive family! Thanks Mumsy-Wumsy for coming up EXTRA early to watch & take care of our kidd-o's! Thanks for all the extra prayers in our behalf...don't be offended if you didn't know about this surgery...Al wanted it to be very HUSH-HUSH, so I respected his wishes...to some extent! :)
I am grateful for the way life plays out. It's amazing how I know I'm truly known by my Heavenly Father! Life doesn't just happen by coincidence...it truly is inspired by a greater power!!!
As in Gordon B. Hinckley's words... "it WILL all work out!"

Hmmmm...

Al & I both had yucky stomach issues earlier this week...thank goodness it only lasted 1 day!!! & good thing for cute Jammies to hang-out in! :)
The snow has been INSANE at our house this year! We are starting to not have any place to put it...I haven't seen snow like this since I was little! I think we've gotten over close to a foot just this week!!
I took Emma out for ice cream after her SEP conferences cause her teachers did nothing, but RAVE about her...needless to say, her ice cream was an interesting combination, but she loved it! We also got to watch Full House while we were there...so fun to re-live that! {she also has NO TARDIES!! woot-woot!!}
Now for a lil about my Cuties:
Kye is silly & loves to be my road block on the stairs, in doorways, or in the middle of the kitchen & say, "what's the password?" Which usually is some rAnDoM word!
Zach cannot get enough of Statego! He has moved onto playing himself cause the rest of us won't play him as often as he wants to play!
Emma loves to cart her brothers around in piggy back form. She can handle Kye really well on her back, but struggles with Zach....she still does Zach even though she shouldn't! Kye LOVES being carted around!!!
